Mr Jonathan Sumption QC is joint Head of Brick Court Chambers. His practice covers all aspects of Commercial, EU and Competition, Public and Constitutional Law. He is widely regarded as one of the leading advocates of his generation, with regular appearances before the Appellate courts and particularly the House of Lords.He has been described as having a "brain the size of a planet" by Alastair Campbell's diaries and is one of the most respected QCs in the UK.
He is frequently engaged in overseas jurisdictions, and in recent years has argued cases before the Appellate Courts of Hong Kong and also the Federal Court in Australia.
He is a Judicial Appointments Commissioner and also an accomplished Historian.
